A Little History
Born in 2001, Joseph Vasconi is the youngest of five children. Known to his family as Joey, he exhibited an interest in piano from a very young age. From age three, Joey would climb on the piano bench after his brother finished his piano lesson. The family piano teacher would say, “No lessons until you can count to 88”.
Undeterred, Joey began to teach himself melodies, modeling the practice sessions of his big brothers. One day, his mother heard a distinct and melodic piece from the family room piano. It was Joey!
Joseph Vasconi began piano studies just before age six. He attended Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California, where he majored in piano in the Conservatory of the Arts program. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor Degree in performance piano at New England Conservatory of Music in the studio of Meng-Chieh Liu.
Joseph is known for his impromptu public performances in senior communities, hospitals, restaurants and airports, as he enjoys sharing his music with the community.
